Sven has been a leading figure in the Australian Bar Community for over a decade. Recipient for the 2009 Outstanding Contribution at the Australian Bar Awards, and is the only person to be voted top five most influential people in the Australian bar Industry at every Biannual Awards for the past five consecutive awards.
Sven was the founder and director of Behind Bars Industry Services, Australia’s largest industry consultancy outfit and the recipient of numerous awards, including several gongs for Training Program of the Year at the Australian Bar Awards.
He opened Eau de Vie (a now multi award winning cocktail bar), in Sydney in February 2010, and four more have since followed bringing his small bar group: The Speakeasy Group, to a total of six venues nationwide (Eau de Vie (Sydney & Melbourne), The Roosevelt (Syd), Boilermaker House (Mlb) and Mjølner (Syd & mlb). His 7th venue, Nick and Nora’s is opening in Parramatta in August 2018
Sven is the author of the Cocktail Book: “Shaken, Stirred, Thrown and Flamed; Cocktails Done the Eau De Vie Way which won the prize for World’s Best Cocktail Book at the 2015 Gourmand Book Awards.
He is also the founder and director of Ananas, an online hospitality training platform launching in 2018.
